The Hayden Hall Journey
Tracing our path of community empowerment and holistic transformation in the heart of Darjeeling since 1969.
1969
Father Burns S.J. planted the seeds of Hayden Hall, creating a safe sanctuary for the marginalized communities of Darjeeling. What started as a modest relief effort soon evolved into a comprehensive movement for social equity and holistic growth.
1982
Scaling Health & Nutrition: We established the integrated Health and Nutrition program, launching the first vocational training workshops for community members to develop sustainable life skills alongside basic healthcare access.
2004
The Women’s Cooperative: A milestone for economic agency, the cooperative was founded to provide artisan weavers with a platform for their craft, ensuring financial independence and cultural preservation for hundreds of women.
2026
Future Horizons: Today, we continue to bridge heritage with innovation. By integrating digital literacy and sustainable energy into our community-led models, we ensure Hayden Hall remains a beacon of hope for generations to come.
